FAQs

When will Matcher 6 be available?

Matcher 6 is currently in build. It is expected to become available in early 2027. In the meantime, we are happy to talk through how it will work for your clinic and what the transition will involve.

Isn’t it risky to put clinic data in the cloud

It’s an understandable concern, but in reality cloud is the more secure option. Much of healthcare’s most sensitive data already lives in the cloud, on the same kind of enterprise platform Matcher Cloud is being built on. Microsoft Azure has dedicated security teams monitoring for threats around the clock, encrypts data as standard and is independently certified to international security standards. A typical on-site clinic server depends entirely on the clinic’s own IT resources to stay patched, backed up and protected.

What cloud provider underpins the platform?

The platform is built on Microsoft Azure, one of the world’s leading cloud computing platforms. By leveraging Azure, customers benefit from a highly scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure designed to support organisations of all sizes.
Key benefits include:
  • Enterprise-grade security to help protect sensitive patient and operational data.
  • High availability and reliability, ensuring the platform remains accessible when you need it most.
  • Scalability, allowing the platform to grow alongside the needs of your clinic.
  • Global infrastructure, enabling secure and consistent performance across multiple locations.
  • Support for regulatory and compliance requirements, helping organisations maintain confidence in their data management and security practices.
By building on Microsoft Azure, we can focus on delivering innovative functionality and an excellent user experience, while benefiting from the robust cloud infrastructure trusted by healthcare providers and businesses worldwide.

When transitioning from Matcher 5 to Matcher 6, will we continue to operate under our existing contract, or will a new contractual agreement be required?

The transition from Matcher 5 to Matcher 6 will require some updates to the existing contractual documentation, including the End User Licence Agreement (EULA), to reflect the enhanced functionality, cloud-based delivery model, and associated service provisions.
However, we do not anticipate this being a complex process. We will work closely with you and your distributor to review and agree any required changes, ensuring the transition is as smooth and straightforward as possible.  Our aim is to provide a clear migration path that allows your centre to benefit from Matcher 6 while maintaining continuity and minimising administrative burden.

Can Matcher 6 link with our existing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) database?

The Matcher database can be linked with any other EMR (Electronic Medical Records) database in order to share information.

This typically includes as a minimum a patients’ ID number, name and date of birth, and the same details for their partner. This avoids duplication of data entry, saving you time and more importantly removing risk from transcription errors.  EMRs can link via our API, and our Service & Support Team can support your IT department/EMR provider to connect to it.  The API link can also be configured to allow import and/or export of other data, e.g. cycle data initiated in your EMR, or product lot data captured by Matcher.
